Start with categories
- Open administration, then “Menu” and “Add Category”. Use a short name staff will recognise, such as Coffee, Soft drinks or Grill.
- Set the preparation station for the category where relevant. Items must reach the correct kitchen or bar. Check the category order as it appears at the till.
Add a product
- Choose “Add Product” and enter the name, price, category and preparation time. Check the VAT rate against your accountant’s instructions.
- Add a description and allergens using information about the actual product. Check the vegan, gluten-free or lactose-free labels yourself before applying them.
- For items with counted stock, enter the available quantity and check it in Warehouse. For ingredient-based recipes, follow the separate stock guide.
Ingredients and extras
- Link the recipe ingredients and quantities used by the product. Add options such as extra cheese or a different milk and set their prices.
- Check a test order with an extra and another with an ingredient removed. Removing an ingredient does not automatically reduce the selling price. Order notes carry preparation instructions.
Updating the menu
- Open the product, make the change and save. Check the price and availability on a second device. Saved orders retain their original sale price.
- For an item you are temporarily not serving, change its availability. Make major menu and stock changes before opening the venue.
