Ordering terms in plain language.
A brief guide to the devices and functions you will find in Efaeto.
- Order taking
- Recording the items and quantities a customer requests. In Efaeto, staff enter orders on a phone, tablet or computer and the relevant stations are updated.
- POS and card terminal
- POS is the system used to manage a point of sale. In everyday speech, the same term can also mean a card payment terminal. These are different functions.
- PDA
- A handheld device for entering orders. Efaeto can be used on a phone or tablet with a modern browser.
- KDS, kitchen display
- Kitchen Display System. A kitchen or bar screen showing orders, notes and waiting times.
- Local server
- The venue's computer that stores data and coordinates devices over the local network.
- Offline-first
- A design that allows core functions to continue without internet access. In Efaeto this covers local ordering, while external provider services require a connection.
- Floor plan
- The screen listing tables, their status and open bills.
- Bill splitting
- Dividing a bill by amount or item so customers can pay separately.
- Stock and recipes
- Recording ingredients and linking them to product recipes to calculate consumption and cost.
- Station and shift
- A station is a work position, such as the bar or till. A shift records a person's working period and links to the corresponding activity.
- Thermal printer
- A printer that uses thermal paper for order tickets and receipts. Greek text requires a compatible model and the correct settings.
- Fiscal device
- The device the venue uses to issue legal fiscal documents. Efaeto is currently used alongside it.
- myDATA
- AADE’s electronic books platform. Data is transmitted through the business’s fiscal document system. Information from AADE.
- Declaration of conformity A.1054/2024
- The process for Efaeto is not complete. The current status is described in the fiscal features section.
- Revenue commission
- A fee calculated as a percentage of sales. Efaeto charges a licence fee with no percentage of revenue.
